Community Education Program

The Community Education Program is part of East Bay Herbals' mission to provide accessible and relatable information about herbal medicine and holistic nutrition to the community.  All classes are free or low-cost and are open to the public. We aim to offer at least one free class a season, but feel free to check back on the site for recent additions as they come.

This class was co-taught with the wonderful Andrea Telfer-Karbo (FNP) of The Remedy during the Fall of 2020 and we're re-releasing it for your viewing pleasure for the remainder of the fall season. In this informative 1-hour lecture we'll talk about herbs, foods, supplements, and lifestyle strategies to support the respiratory system as we head into autumn and make our way through the tail-end of fire season.

Join East Bay Herbals for a free community class on fire cider! This traditional herbal remedy has been a staple in the herbal world for years and is a go-to elixir for supporting the immune system throughout the winter months. This easy-to-make recipe can be crafted using simple kitchen ingredients and can be taken by the whole family. In this half-hour workshop, we'll talk about the medicinal value of this fiery drink and make a batch together virtually at the end of class. Ingredients list sent out to all those who register so they can prepare and have their materials on hand.

Spruce Up Your Holidays: Using Herbs + Foods to Turn Holiday Classics into Healing Meals

Join me for a festive holiday celebration all about holiday table favorites, and how you can spruce them up to make them more medicinal. This class will highlight the nutritional and herbal benefits of classic holiday meals, as well as common holiday herbs and their medicinal values. Students will go home with a few recipes to apply to their holiday meals and partake in a tea tasting  (if they so desire) together as a class. Each student will receive a complimentary bag of tea with their registration (mailed to them) which they can make and enjoy during the tasting. Please register by November 5th to receive your tea.

Join us October 16th from 10-3 for the Soul Food Farm Fall Harvest Festival! Spend at afternoon at the farm enjoying everything that fall has to bring! There will be a small farmers market, treats, artisan crafts…and a PUMPKIN PATCH! Bring the family, bring a picnic, you can even a little wagon if your looking to pick some pumpkins!

Port Costa Vendor's Market

Trailer Park Treasures / Port Costa, CA

A weekly outdoor pop-up local makers and food vendors in the charming town of Port Costa along the Carquinez strait. This intimate market features local artists and chefs and is a wonderful sampling of the gems this area has to offer. Held every Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) in downtown Port Costa.

Join us at the historic Rodger's Ranch Visitor in Pleasant Hill for a day of ultra local vendors and artisans. This fair is quaint and well curated, with an intentional group of vendors all local to the East Bay area. We are so excited to be have been invited back to this sweet little market once again!
