Community Education Program
The Community Education Program is part of East Bay Herbals' mission to provide accessible and relatable information about herbal medicine and holistic nutrition to the community. All classes are free or low-cost and are open to the public. We aim to offer at least one free class a season, but feel free to check back on the site for recent additions as they come.

Herbal Monographs: Spring Botanicals + Bitters

Join East Bay Herbals for a free community class all about spring botanicals and how to start using these herbs at home. We'll take a walk through the farm garden and explore what's in season, and then make an herbal bitters formula from seasonal goodies that we find. Students will go home with a few new herbs in their toolkit, as well as a free herbal monograph for their own home herbal reference library. This class is free and open to the public but requires advance registration to secure your supplies for the medicine making and herbal monograph take home.

Join Clinical Registered Herbalist and Biologist Anna Marie Beauchemin for a seasonal talk all about using your garden to build a home beginner home apothecary. In this hour-long class, we will cover the basics of building your first home apothecary apothecary, easy-to-grow botanicals and their medicinal properties, and ways to create medicine from what you grow. This class will also feature medicinal herbs that are beneficial for pollinators. This talk is free and open to the public.

The newest version of the Pop-Up Apothecary, Intuitive Tea Blends is a fun community offering where folks can drop in and have their own custom tea blend crafted using herbal energetics and intuition. These blends are best used to support one issue and are based on a quick energy reading and tongue/pulse assessment. Intuitive tea blends are best suited for matters of the heart and spirit, so come looking for a tea blend to help support your energetic health.

Join me for a stroll through the local hills to explore the medicinal herbs growing all around us. Spring is the perfect time of year to get outside and view some of the area's best medicinals in their habitat. We'll learn about the uses of native medicinals, and a bit about herbal ecology as well. As a former biologist, this is one of my favorite ways to share the beauty of herbs - and I'm excited to be offering this walk on Earth Day too.
